The Charlie Good Final Event

The Final Event, also known as the Charlie Good Memorial, is both the last official tournament of the MGA season and the last opportunity to compete for Player of the Year points.

The tournament is open to all current MGA members. Registration is open until the morning of the event.

2015 Fall Smoker

October 26 -- The Fall Smoker is final MGA social event of the year featuring cocktails, dinner and the announcement of 2015 tournament winners.

The Fall Smoker is also the time to elect members of the MGA Board.

Both the fall and spring Smokers are open to all current and prospective MGA members. Any new male members of Hidden Creek who are interested in joining the MGA are encouraged to attend. .

2016 Spring Smoker

March 14, 6:30 pm -- There is no better way to get ready for the upcoming golf season then attending the “Spring Smoker”.

Both the fall and spring Smokers are open to all current and prospective MGA members. Any “NEW” members who are interested in joining the MGA are encouraged to attend. It’s a great way to meet other members, find out what the MGA is all about and look ahead to the 2016 season and the upcoming schedule.

2016 Hidden Madness

March 18 -- Take your best shot on 15 in this bracket-style, one-shot elimination event. In this elimination skills event, 64 players complete in a match play event where the player with the closest shot to the hole wins and advances to the next round. As in the NCAA basketball tournament, players are seeded by handicap in four 16-player brackets.

The winning player advances to the next round.

Bracket selection takes place in the Tavern Wednesday, March 16 at 6:00 pm.

2016 Iron Man/Iron Woman

March 19, March 20 -- Kick off the golf season with one of the most challenging formats of the year. The Iron Man/Iron Woman is a two-day stroke-play event with men teeing off from the Blue tees and Women teeing off from the Whites.

2016 MGA Cup

The MGA Cup is a season-long match play tournament. Beginning in early April the tournament is comprised of two major parts, the Initial Rounds and the Final Rounds. During the Initial Rounds, players are flighted in eight-man brackets seeded by USGA Index. Bracket winners advance to Final Bracket of Match Play. Shoot-Out in July for Third Round Losers (The Best of the Rest!) Finals - 4 Rounds of Match Play (16 Players ).

2016 Green Coat Masters

April 15, 16 and 17 -- Since 1980, the Green Coat has been the first major of the MGA season and is considered by many to be the most prestigious. This year marks the 37th time members will compete for the coveted Green Coat.

In 2015, the team of Dan Lesando, Bob Lesando, Victor Cabral and Evan Planto won the first event allowing seniors to move forward one tee. It was the second Green Coats for Bob and Dan.

Breakfast Tournament #1

May 1 The Hidden Creek Men's Golf Association (MGA) organizes and sponsors, in coordination with the Pro Shop, three Breakfast Tournaments each year. The MGA started these tournaments several years ago with the objective of affording members the opportunity to play with golfers they normally might not meet or play with. In other words, we want to get more of our members to know each other in order to enhance the spirit of camaraderie.

Two-Man Challenge

May 14 and May 15, 2016 As its name implies, the "Challenge" is a fun two-man event. Its "Eclectic" format is designed to encourage aggressive play, while also keeping each team in the competition for the whole weekend. At the end of the tournament, each team will submit one aggregate 18-hole score. The team score will be determined by selecting the best score for each hole from both days. Best 18-hole net score is the overall winner.

Gross and net winners will be determined.

Senior Club Championship

June 4 - June 5, 2016 The Senior Club Championship is an individual stroke play event open to all members 50 years of age and above.

Super Senior Club Championship

The Super Senior Club Championship is a stroke-play event open to MGA members 65 and over.

2016 Mens Member-Guest

June 16, 17, 18 -- From year to year the Hidden Creek Member-Guest continues to surpass expectations and top the performances of previous year's events.

The Member-Guest is a three-day, four-ball competition similar in format to the Member-Member.

Teams compete in five nine-hole matches within six-team flights. On Friday, June 17 each team plays three matches. Saturday, June 18 each team plays two matches.

June 26 -- The breakfast tournament series offers players of all levels a chance to meet other members and hone your skills in a variety of team formats.

Players sign up in the pro shop. The pro shop pairs teams based on handicap.

MGA President's Cup

July 9 and 10, 2016 The President's Cup is the year's premier stroke-play tournament of the tournament season. The event is open to all members of the Hidden Creek MGA.

During the two-day event, participants compete from the white tees for gross and net sweeps. This year's tournament also kicks off the Club Championship qualifying season: 1, the gross event winner earns the 1st seed in the Championship Flight; 2, competitors may elect to use their two rounds toward qualifying for the Championship Flight. MGA Memorial

Sunday, July 31 -- Form a two-man scramble team for a one-day, casual tournament honoring past members of Hidden Creek Country Club.

Rules:

  • Team course handicap minimum of no less than 10 as of July 1, 2015 revision.
  • Must use five drives from each player.
  • Must use five second shots from each player.

2016 MGA Club Championship

August 7, 12, 13, 14 -- The Club Championship is a flighted match play event offering players at all levels an opportunity to compete for the champion's trophy.

The event includes flights for all handicap levels plus the Championship flight, from which the Club's 2016 Champion will emerge.

All members are invited to qualify for the Championship flight. All other participants are flighted according to their handicap.

September 22, 23, 24 -- The Member-Member is a two-day, four-ball competition similar in format to the Member-Guest. Teams compete in five nine-hole matches within six-team flights. This year's field is capped at 60 two-man teams.
